Here Is the Finished Man Quilt #2

Here are some close ups of the quilting for the second quilt....haven't washed it yet...waiting to see if it needs more.....

Here's a possible quilting pattern to use with the snowball blocks. Each straight line of quilting is parallel to the diamond shape formed by the 4 triangles, but not in the ditch. How far off from the diamonds depends on the size of the snowball block and the corner diamonds. I think that 1/4" off from the diamonds would work for the "man" quilts. The numbers along the sides represent the order in which quilt lines.

As a bonus the other drawing is the possible layout for the "tiled" backsplash I want to create in the kitchen if I ever find the 1/4" tape.

WEll, well, I have finished the second manquilt...this one is for Mike....just have to locate some batting and then attach the binding but thats fun....oh yes...I have to quilt it too!!!!!!!

This seems to be such a simple quilt to construct....the real time is in the cutting and planning....the sewing seems to go very quickly.....here is the black border and the piano keys border waiting to be attached...

SECOND MAN QUILT ON THE DESIGN WALL!!!

Here is the beginning of the second man quilt....all the blocks are on the design wall. I will wait til Hayley has a look see....she helped with some "moves" on the last quilt...she has a wonderful sense of color and balance....there are not as many "brights" in this one but the balcnce is ok....

Well, just in time for the super bowl.....the top is finished.....center blocks and borders.......if nothing it is colorful...and sure shows some of Gary's interests!!!! Check out some of the details....

Finished Center Section

I had to do some minor trimming of some of the blocks and then on some of the "rows" before sewing the entire center section together...the ironing was very important.....

Here are the separate blocks....and the above pictures show them all sewn together for the middle section of the quilt....it all went together so easily!!! and the colors and prints are so much fun!!!!
